“A wise woman builds her house” tells the Word of the Living God. And this is very true in the lives of the rural women in India. The money lenders with a sky high 25% to 30% interest rob the hard earned money of these women but the principle loan goes on un ending!!! The scarcity of rain, the scarcity of daily labor, the many kids in the family, the drunkard cruel husband makes the life of these women very miserable.
Bethel distribute interest free loans to these women group for them to start a business of their own so that they live a life dignity and learn to earn with respect and save their money in their group bank. Small business like a bi-cycle shop, a tea shop, a Tiffin centre, milk cow, sheep, chicken meat shop, petty shop and various other ventures will bring them profit.

We need a capital fund of Rs. 2,50,000/- ( $.5556) as capital fund. This will fetch a service charge of 1% and will be revolving.
Each women group leader is in-charge of her group. She gathers the women twice a week to discuss various issues of life and distributes the loan and collects the monthly installments and deposits and withdraws from the bank. Late depositors face a fine.
The leader of each group encourages the women to save regularly and systematically. Many family’s history is re-written by this project.
